Position Responsibilities:

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:

• Analyze current inventory levels, fill rates, lead times, average product demand, customer back orders and open vendor orders to determine purchase quantities
• Communicate with 5 sales teams for input on purchases
• Review market trends and seasonality to supplemental purchasing recommendations
• Communicate with suppliers on a consistent and regular basis
• Check and reconcile open orders in the system
• Supplier negotiations to include price, delivery, supply terms, pack quantities, etc.
• Forecasting
• Must be able to plan & meet deadlines
• And all other duties as assigned
• Manage customer & vendor data requests and inquiries
• Review and address customer inquiries in a timely manner

Skills and Abilities:

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point
• Must be committed to a high level of work quality and personal spirit of cooperation, accuracy and timeliness 
• Purchasing & Product team is set up in cross functional teams, candidate should demonstrate ability to lead and work cross functional teams

Beneficial Skills and Experience:

• Prior Purchasing Experience is beneficial
• Oracle MRP Experience is strongly desired
• Japanese language skills a plus

Education/Training Requirements:

• High School Diploma 
• Associates/Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required

Work Environment Requirements:

• Must be able to operate a personal computer, telephone and other office equipment
• Must perform job duties onsite, except those duties that are customarily or by their nature performed offsite (for example, offsite customer visits)
• Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where constructive criticism is encouraged
• Must be able to work on multiple assignments at once, and complete assignments within deadline and budget (if applicable) with satisfactory quality
• Must be able to operate as an effective team member
• Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all company safety policies

Attendance/Work Hours Requirements:

• Must maintain an acceptable attendance record
• Must be willing and available to work 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week, plus other hours per day or week as are necessary or desirable to meet business needs
• Must be willing and available to work such weekends and holidays as necessary and desirable to meet business needs
• NOTE: These requirements are consistent with company policy

Travel Requirements:

• Approximately 10%. Occasional weekend responsibility
• Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs
