Position Responsibilities

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:

• Work in conjunction with product manager, product specialists, sales, and as a liaison to the aftermarket team in Japan to develop new product plans for assigned categories
• Have complete knowledge of Product Information Exchange Standards (PIES).
• Manage product workflow and deliverables on a day to day.
• Provide technical support as needed, in house and at trade shows and industry events
• Support inside personnel, customer service and sales, as required.
• Perform market analysis including analysis of competitive landscape, market segmentation.
• Manage product category in terms of profitability, market share, growth rate by market segment, and life cycle.
• Perform product trend and product gap analysis. Analyze new product opportunities and market conditions through trade shows, customer visits, vendor visits, and field research.
• Help provide application data to assist in development of complete application catalogs.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point.
• Must be committed to a high level of work quality and personal spirit of cooperation, accuracy, and timeliness.

Beneficial Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in similar automotive product specialist position.
• Product engineering with a focus on leading cross functional and product development team.
• Oracle
• Second language (Spanish).
• Presentation abilities to technicians and sales staff.

Education/Training/Certifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Associates or Bachelor Degree preferred

Work Environment Requirements:

• Must be able to operate a personal computer, telephone and other office equipment.
• Must perform job duties onsite, except those duties that are customarily or by their nature performed offsite (for example, offsite customer visits).
• Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment where constructive criticism is encouraged.
• Must be able to work on multiple assignments at once, and complete assignments within deadline and budget (if applicable) with satisfactory quality.
• Must be able to operate as an effective team member.
• Must be committed to a high standard of safety, and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all company safety policies.

Attendance/Work Hour Requirements:

• Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.
• Must be willing and available to work such weekends and holidays as necessary and desirable to meet business needs.

Travel Requirements:

• Approximately 10% with occasional weekend responsibility.
• Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
